Good Bye Good Life

Well that just sucks. Me and hubby go to Nubody's or Goodlife they are the same. I have been going quite regularly and enjoy their gyms. Through my job I get a corporate rate. Well that was with Nubodys anyway. Today I get a letter that says my membership will be ending on the 30th (of this month!) due to a conflict in what Goodlife wanted from my work. This totally sucks.. in the biggest way. We cannot afford 2 memberships with regular rates right now, and on top of that they don’t even really give me enough time to do it in.

Just when things are getting good for us something like this goes and screws up my routine. So the way I see it is I have 2 options.

1. I start running outside… not sure if this would happen, I hate my area to even walk in so I am forced to drive to a better area. Some may argue that I drive to the gym, but at the gym I have the ability to change out of workout clothes and I usually am either on my way home or going into the city for more than just working out.

or

2. I suck it up and get a membership for just me for the same price as it is currently for both of us. This is also unlikely because I really enjoy going to the gym with hubby and he enjoys going as well. Also I don’t think I would go as often knowing he was at home. The weekend gym trips would also stop because of the fact that he couldn’t go in.

So there is my dilemma for the day. I am very upset about this as it brings unneeded stress about money, routine, and this whole weight loss thing!

I’mmm Back… Did ya miss me?

Probably not. Any way I have been out for a while, life and such I guess, no real excuse for not blogging just haven't been feeling it really. And honestly I’m not really feeling it right now either I just feel I should. So to catch everyone up here is some pictures of our recent days;

SAM_0289Wow it was all food, that’s interesting, So as you can see I have eaten alot. My weigh in today was a STS. I am ok with that though, and next week hopefully I will do better.

SAM_0291In my thoughts  lately have been children, I cannot wait to have kids, I also cant wait to have a house. Dean starts work this week and I can only hope all goes well for him.

SAM_0297Also in my thoughts are my parents. My mom mostly she goes for her second heart test tomorrow and I am going with her.  I can’t tell what is more stressful her going for the test or the fact that I have to be with her for it while she can’t have any caffeine or cigarettes.

SAM_0300And last but not least is the fact that my back is killing me and I am really in a fowl mood and not sure why… oh these things called hormones and life!

Down and Out

Wow I have not had much mojo lately… I have been eating everything in sight and somehow managed a 2.2 loss on the scale this week. I don’t know how I did it, and to be honest I don’t deserve it. If any of you have checked out Lynn’s post you will have heard about her Heavy Topic. I have a similar experience. I too am a food addict… only I ham the type that hides my binging. Sunday, for example, I had a piece of cake, in the bathroom, with the door locked.

It is these things that make me a food addict. Hiding my eating when it’s bad, and trying to find ways for more food. I am truly a food addict. I am truly still struggling with this. I don’t know how to fix these behaviours and I have suck anxiety when I am trying to deal with them. That is why I have been MIA, I have been mentally exhausted and frustrated. I have gotten to the gym some how but really just feel down and out. I am fed up with myself and everything about eating and not eating ect.

Ok enough of a rant. I am tracking everything and I am taking my amazing loss and running with it.

Green Monster Madness!

Wow the weekend flew! It wasn’t the best week, or end, but it was fun. I am excepting a gain on the scale, unless I can waterlog my self. Its that time of the month and everything in sight came into my mouth!

That being said it was a decent weekend spent relaxing and cleaning up a bit.

This morning I woke up and remembered there was pineapple in the fridge that was probably almost ready to go bad. Then I thought about smoothies. I have yet to join the Green Monster wagon and decided why not try it. I am not normally a smoothie person as I feel they take more time then they are worth sometimes but I gave it a whirl.

In the blender went;

  • 1C spinach
  • 1C pineapple
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 sm. container vanilla yogurt
  • 1 C milk
  • 4 ice cubes.

Over all I was a little nervous, but it turned out amazing!

Now all I need is to find some decent protein powder and I will be able to make a meal in a glass!

This week is Deans last week of school so we will see how everything changes in a flash and how I deal with the stress. I have no meals planned yet and I am planning 4 trips to the gym this week. I have set up a calendar for us because soon Dean will start shift work and who knows when we will be home and who will cook and all that jazz.

Well hope everyone has a good week!

Relaxation!

Ok so tonight hubby is at a school function which means I get the whole night to myself! But what am I doing… what I normally do, not sure if that is good or bad.  Anyway I just finished catching up on everyone and would love to let everyone know that Jamie is doing a giveaway! Check it out here; http://www.embracingbalance.com/2010/04/share-sprouted-love.html

I had a very successful day at work today and have pretty much everything off my to-do list! Too bad it’s almost time to start wrapping up the month.

I made pasta for mom and myself tonight, was very yummy. But other than that I am being lazy and not doing a whole lot. I did manage to talk myself into getting to the gym today (and into NOT going to Starbucks!).

I also registered for the RELAY for LIFE. I am participating again this year and am proud and excited so please support me if you or anyone you know have been affected by cancer!

Well that’s all folks, I am heading to watch something on TV… or maybe read, who knows!

Where have I been?

Wow I feel like I haven't stopped since Monday. And where have I been you ask?? Here goes the whirlwind.

So Monday was stressful at work and then I weighed in and was down 0.6! Yay me! I was cranky from work though and just wanted to go home, so that is what we did. Dean was looking at cars online and saw one he NEEDED! It was a really good deal so we headed back into the city so that we could get it before it went. If you saw my only tweet in the past 3 days it was about the car. So here it is!

SAM_0262

It’s a 2006 Coverlet Cobalt.

Yesterday was spent going to the gym and getting everything else together for buying the car. Today we brought her home. Dean is a very happy man today. I am so sleepy now though and there is still 2 days left of work!

My plan is to go to the gym tomorrow and maybe Friday, we will see how it goes. My eats have been a little off with all the running around but over all I guess I am having an ok week.

Don’t forget to check out Lynn for her great giveaways!

Spontaneous Saturday

Well I left blogland yesterday thinking we were going to spend a quite day indoors. Nope. I had an inkling to go to Costco and knew Lynn had wanted to go for a while so we invited them and hit up the town!

We went for brunch at Cora’s for brunch and then headed into Costco.  We came out with a new cooking book for Dean, and socks and yoga pants for myself. The pants are super comfy and two pairs were 17.99 I might be going back for the other colors soon!

We hit up chapters and starbucks and then headed back home. We invited Lynn and Jay over for supper and while Dean cooked me and Lynn went out for a run. Huge thanks to her too because we did 6K walking/running outside and I felt so relaxed and good about it. Thanks Lynn!

Supper was about ready when we got back….

Slow Cooker Chilli

Ok so this is my first attempt at a recipe review so bear with me if it is a little sloppy.

As alot of you may know there has been a slow cooker challenge that was presented by Ali for this week. There have been some amazing meals and today is my turn. Due to the fact that my plans for today were up in the air and that I was off yesterday I decided to make my Chilli yesterday, I forgot to take pictures but luckily I had made it a few weeks ago and never posted the pictures because I knew this was coming up. So I can use them!

This recipe was really easy all I did was look at a few around and adapted a little from each one.

Ingredients;

1 medium onions, chopped                                                                         Garlic, 2 cloves, chopped
Ground beef, extra lean, approx 1 lb
Carrots, raw, 3/4 cup, chopped
Celery, 1 stalk, chopped (you could add more of this if desired)
Canned Tomatoes I used ones with chilli seasoning
Tomato Soup, 1 can
Beans, pinto, 1 can
Beans, red kidney, 1 can
Yellow Sweet Corn, 1 can you could use frozen
Spices - your choice I used chilli powder, summer savoury, bay leaves, oregano, thyme.
Tomato Paste, 1 can
Refried Beans, 1 can
Mushrooms I used 5 lg, but you could add more
Green Pepper, 1 medium, but again could use more if wanted

SAM_0192 SAM_0193 SAM_0194 SAM_0195

Directions:

1. Chop every thing, keep onion and garlic in separate pile.

2. Brown ground beef with garlic and onion.

3. Add all ingredients to slow cooker, stir.

4. Cook on high 4 hours or low 8 hours. I have an extremely small and old slow cooker so mine was full to the brim.

SAM_0200

I also made rolls from Betty Crocker. I just made them smaller for about 2 pts a roll. The chilli was 4 pts for a 1 cup serving and turned out to be really filling.

Someone kick my a$$

Ok so I have totally been off track since Sunday. I did round out my week but after that the rest has been crap.

Monday wasn’t horrible but I did over eat, and yesterday… ha lets not even start. We went out for supper because we had an event to go to later that evening and since we live so far from the city we needed to stay in the city. Well instead of getting a salad or even a reduced calorie option the restaurant had I got Mac and cheese, yet full blown real live Mac an cheese…. It was really good going down but I knew once I got up from the table I over ate…. yea lets be honest we started with onion rings.

So I went home saying that is it tomorrow back on track… well that didn’t really happen and although it may be salvageable I had a Timmies Doughnut and haven't tracked a thing. So once I am done blogging I will be back tracking and trying to figure out my points. Then to make it worse the stress of my job has me so sleepy I did not want to go to the gym today… so I didn’t. I do feel like I am rambling a bit but in truth I am really upset with myself and this pattern I am always in. It goes something like this;

Good week, ok week, bad week, and repeat. This means that I am 2 steps forward and one step back… so distressing.

Ok now for some positive thinking good happy images…

SAM_0163

My kitty always makes me smile…

So here’s the plan, go back and track all my eats since Monday, Go to the gym tomorrow, Friday and I am hitting up cape split with the halibloggers Saturday. That will be three workouts and I will probably do some wii fit or something on Sunday.

I am scared to go on the treadmill as I feel I have probably lost some stamina not being at the gym in a week… ugh back to negative thinking…

Some one just kick me…

Oh yea and check out Lynn’s blog for a super giveaway (but don’t enter so I can win, lol)!

On Hiatus

Wow it’s been a while since I blogged! Well time flies when your having fun they say… or in my case super busy, but there was fun to be had.

So work is still super insane, and honestly not alot of hope in the end being near. Even today was crazy… ugh I am getting very frustrated with work and am contemplating looking elsewhere for work.

The weekend was not a long one for me, it flew by. I worked Friday and today so only had a normal weekend. But I may be getting Wednesday off so that will at least break up the week for me. My weekend was spent over at Lynn’s helping her paint. If you follow her you have already seen the massive area’s we had to cover. That being said she laid out a pretty good lunch spread;

SAM_0211

By the end of it we were all full of paint, although I think J got the worst of it… SAM_0215But all in all it was a fun weekend, and I can only think that now once we buy a house they can help us with all the fun stuff.

I must admit I was sooo sore Sunday from climbing up and down the ladder. My thighs are so sore, but it meant for good AP’s. I did weigh in today and sadly was up. But I kind of thought I would be since we had Ham last night for Easter Dinner. My father was home and it was nice to see him, and supper was pretty good.

Supper tonight was very interesting and delish!

SAM_0216 SAM_0218

Asparagus Tips, Asparagus and Parmesan Risotto and Asparagus and mushroom crepe. The main idea was to not let the asparagus go bad, and Dean did a great job! I loved it so much. It was a bit high in points but I plan on being an excellent WW for the rest of the week so I can see a good loss on the scale!

And one more thing today kicks off the exciting slow cooker challenge!

Tonight it’s Jamie’s turn to show off her slow cooking skills so head over to Embracing Balance later tonight to see what she’s had cooking!
